A collaborative research group led by Dr. Kenta Suzuki, and Dr. Hiroshi Masuya (RIKEN BioResource Research Center (BRC), respectively) has revealed how gut microbiota are reorganised as liver disease progresses, using energy landscape analysis. The findings provide a new framework for identifying microbial biomarkers associated with liver disease.
