A collaborative research group led by Dr. Naoki Kubo, Team Director of the Transcriptome-Epigenome Research Team, RIKEN BioResource Research Center (BRC), and Dr. Yasuhiro Murakawa, Team Director of the Laboratory for Gene Structure and Regulation,RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences (IMS), has published a white paper proposing the next research goals and a roadmap for the International Mouse Phenotyping Consortium (IMPC), in which BRC participates.
The proposed strategy is expected to promote the functional characterization of disease-associated non-coding regions of the genome on a global scale, contributing to a better understanding of disease mechanisms and advancing precision medicine and drug discovery research through strengthened international collaboration.
The white paper was published online in Mammalian Genome on July 24, 2026.
