A research team comprising Dr. Taku Kadoya, (National Institute for Environmental Studies), Dr. Kenta Suzuki（RIKEN BRC) , and Dr. Akira Terui (University of North Carolina at Greensboro), has estimated the energy associated with combinations of multiple species using a technique known as energy landscape analysis. This research is detailed in their recent paper published in Environmental Microbiome.
